Nirvanna the Band, the Show, the Movie (2025)

Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie feels like a new classic on the block. Sensational humor combined with effortless pacing and smooth world-building makes this time-travel story feel like a blast. You don’t have to watch the show to be invested in the fate of the characters, as the movie does a great job setting up the different conflicts between them. The guerilla-style filmmaking helps to immerse you in their world, while providing a funny blend of street comedy. Even with its simple narrative, Matt Johnson delivers strongly on a windy and humble sense of humor. The only thing that I did not like as much was the constant use of slow-motion flashbacks, but the rest of the movie was so fun that it does not matter. Did I mention that the soundtrack to this movie is excellent? Really reminds me of an extended YouTube skit, but in the best way possible.
